PARTNERS IN PRESCRIBING

Your pharmacist can now prescribe certain drugs.

Your pharmacist is the drug expert on your medical team, working closely with your doctor and other health care professionals. Now in effect, new legislation has expanded the role of your pharmacist in meeting your health needs.

The Saskatchewan College of Pharmacists is pleased to provide you with answers and information.

You can rely on your pharmacist to answer your drug-related questions and concerns. Your pharmacist can often determine if health issues are related to medication, and can now prescribe certain medications.

You should always see your doctor when you have health issues. Your pharmacist will help you decide whether or not you should see your doctor. Your pharmacist can also confidentially discuss your health concerns with your doctor.

By going to the same pharmacy you make it easier to keep your prescription records on hand. You can talk to your pharmacists about managing your drug therapy – and form an important, ongoing relationship. You, your doctor and your pharmacist become Partners in Prescribing.

Got a question about drugs and your health? Ask your pharmacist – because your pharmacist knows!
